The Shooting Star Children's Hospice
At the end of last year we heard a news item on the Capital Radio Breakfast Show hosted by Johnny Vaughan and Denise Van Outen. As part of their Help a London Child Christmas Appeal they were trying to raise funds to help some needy children in London. The recipient of the money raised Last December through the Appeal will be used to build a Play Therapy Room in a new extension at The Shooting Star Children’s Hospice based in Hampton in Middlesex.
The Shooting Star Children’s Hospice is a very special place – a home from home for families who find themselves in truly unimaginable circumstances. The hospice provides essential care and support for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families, free of charge, 365 days a year. So where do we fit into this? We have offered our services to install or re instate the lawns around the new building once completed and we are looking for your help! We will supply the tools and equipment and know how but we could do with some sponsorship in the shape of turf supplies or grass seed and maybe a little bit of labour too or even some other items such as plant hire, skip hire and creature comforts whilst on site. Incidently, we are aware that there will be a need for some landscaping too, so if you are able to help with the supply of plants and labour or design work then please post a comment below so we can get the ball rolling. Timing is October/November 2008. We will keep you all updated once we are aware that the building has been completed because Builders and new lawns are not a match made in heaven... If you are able to help in any way then please email us at the Lawn Company.
