Summer Fertiliser Applications

Fertiliser Lawn

Every time you mow your lawns, you cut some of the nutrient status off into the grass box.  Summer can be tough for lawns and this year is no exception.  There has not been great rainfall since March and the lawns are starting to look a little dry and stressed if artificial irrigation is not available.

It is always the lawns which have been fertilised on a regular basis that stand up to the extremes of the elements so why not consider fertilising your lawn now?

New generation slow release fertilisers provide a slow or controlled release of key major grass nutrients and also provide up to 12 weeks of nutritional benefit for the thousands of grass plants that make up a few square metres of lawn.

Lawn Treatment Companies tend to favour Sulphur Coated lawn fertiliser which is fine but sometimes they use the absolute minimal application rate.  The technology of Sulphur Coated Fertiliser is quite old too.

There are many other types of Nitrogen sources that should be considered which is why the friendly people at The Lawn Shop provide a choice of three Nitrogen sources so you have a choice in their own label range of lawn fertilisers.  You can choose from Sulphur Coated, Methylene Urea and also a NMAXX Stabilised Nitrogen which is a trendy American product.  Each will last 12 weeks but they behave in different ways according to the climate and soil.

Most lawn owners would have fertilised their lawn in March and it is now the time to repeat a fertiliser application now!  Every three months throughout the year, like clockwork.

What are you waiting for - go and feed your lawn now!  It will thank you for it.
