Green Keeper in Fallen Tree Accident

Grass Clippings - Dibden Golf ClubA golf course green keeper is fighting for his life after a 40ft tree fell on him as he sat on a ride-on lawnmower.

The man, aged in his 40s, has been taken to hospital after he was crushed while working on the fairway at the Dibden Golf Centre, in Southampton, Hampshire.

Firefighters freed him but he suffered potentially life-changing injuries in the freak accident which was believed to be caused by a strong gust of wind.

The golf course has been closed until further notice and emergency services said the man's relatives were being notified.

Our thoughts go out to his family at this time and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Interesting to note the tree had no leaves which begs the question was the tree dead.
