London gets a new Park

Trafalgar In a move designed to highlight open spaces in the City, Trafalgar square has seen a makeover with the laying of over 2000 square metres of turf.

The turf has been shipped in from the Vale of York and will remain in Trafalgar square for two days to allow visitors the chance to taste open spaces in the 'Village of London' before it is lifted and moved to Bishops Park in Hammersmith and Fulham.

Chief executive of Visit London James Bidwell said: "From the rural feel of areas like Bexley Village and Wimbledon, to urban villages like Marylebone and even Canary Wharf, the campaign will help everyone discover Village London."

Clippings say's: We are all for promoting grass and what a great place to do it. With more open spaces now being ripped out to make way for housing then now is the best time to stress the importance of a good lawn.
