How to cure dog urine burns in your lawn

Dog Rocks - The Solution to Pet Urine Burns in LawnsThe problem of trying to cure dog urine burns from appearing in your lawns is as old as the hills. There are many an Old Wives' Tale about feeding your beloved pooches Tomato Juice or Tomato Ketchup and also Pilchards. I have tried them all in and found the Pilchards feeding tip a bit pongy to say the least!

This problem drives me mad. I must spend a few hours each month armed with garden Trug full of sandy loam and a few big handfuls of lawn grass seed, mixed together to fill by hand some 90 squat marks in the lawns. The worst affected lawn area is the one closest to the back door - the shortest route to taking a pee.

One handful of loam and seed mix per dog urine burn and working it in with a back of a rake or a Trulute. You may have heard of Dog Rocks which are an Australian product that are meant to cure the problem. To be honest, having tried them for the last six months of last year, they do work but I noticed that one of my dogs, Scamp, who is on medication 'Metacam' and her marks are worse than the ones left by the Basset Hound, called Charlie.

Having not used Dog Rocks in the four months of this year, to perform a bit of a trial, I am now back on them, or rather they are now in the dog's water bowl and I am off with my trug full of soil and seed once more! Want to buy Dog Rocks? Should you require Lawn Grass Seed or Lawn Fertiliser to renovate your lawn following years of pet urine burns, the nice people at The Lawn Shop can help you out. Tips on How to Renovate a Lawn just in case the well being of the lawn has gone the other way....
