RHS Chelsea Flower Show - making your lawn grow better

RHS Chelsea Flower ShowThis week, Tuesday 19th - Saturday 23rd May sees the RHS Chelsea Flower Show open the doors of the gardens belonging to The Royal Hospital Chelsea for the gardening event of the year, billed as the ultimate event in the gardening calendar. It sets the latest gardening trends, features the newest and most desirable gardening products and creates an explosion of colours and scents.

Cutting-edge garden design and thousands of perfect blooms; top growers and world class designers; scents and sights and shopping galore. Chelsea will be crammed with leading lights, big name designers and the spectacle you'd expect at the world’s greatest gardening event. Don’t miss out on the gardening event of the year.

The commonest questions received by the RHS Advisory Team at last years' Chelsea Flower Show were:

1. Why won’t my wisteria flower?
2. Why is there no fruit on my trees?
3. How do I know when my potatoes are ready to gather?
4. What do I do about rhubarb flowers?
5. My Japanese acer has died back – why?
6. Why have my potted camellias have gone brown?
7. How do I make my lawn grow better?
8. What can I plant in dry shade?
9. How do I prune spring flowering shrubs?
10. How do I look after my potted olive tree?

Should you require lawn advice, please use the search facility at the top right of the Lawn Blog. If you have a larger lawn area where you could do with some dedicated time for half a day followed by a written short fromal report, consider a Lawn Technical Visit by one of our qualified Agronomist.

Should you require the answer to the question - "How do I make my lawn grow better" visit our Lawn Shop for access to some great granular fertilisers that will not leave you busting a gut to keep up with the lawn growth.

We have heard a rumour that the RHS are allowing the display of an artificial lawn for the first time in the shows' history. More on this story later.
