Remember the Fallen Heroes
Remembrance Day and the Two Minute Silence have been observed since the end of the First World War, but their relevance remains undiminished.
When we bow our heads in reflection, we remember those who fought for our freedom during the two World Wars. But we also mourn and honour those who have lost their lives in more recent conflicts.
Today, with troops on duty in Afghanistan and other trouble spots around the world, Remembrance, and this two minute tribute, are as important as ever.
- The Two Minute Silence at 11am on 11th day of the 11th month.
- The Parade and Service at the Cenotaph in Whitehall on Remembrance Sunday.
- The Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.
- The Annual Poppy Appeal.
- Dedicate a tribute in the Field of Remembrance.
- A special tribute for those who participated in The Great War - Flanders' Field of Poppies.
- A range of local Remembrance events.
These are just a few of the ways in which the Legion helps to ensure that: "If we are to maintain our peace and freedom, we must always remember".
