November Lawn Jobs

November Lawn TasksDon't forget your lawn this month!  There is always something that can be done to a lawn throughout the year and the late autumn months are no exception.

The grass has not yet stopped growing, not that it fully will, and before you get totally swept up in the coming holiday season of Thanks Giving and Christmas, there are a few jobs you could complete on your lawn to get it in shape for Winter.

There is nothing better than getting out in the garden once the frost is off the lawns and getting warm by raking the leaves up.  Your lawn and garden will looks so much better following your efforts and the lawn will thank you for the clean up too.
  1. Clear up the fallen leaves and debris so that the lawn is not smothered.  Wet leaves are a nightmare
  2. Control any moss that is in the lawn so that the grass has a chance
  3. Mow the lawn on a slightly higher than usual setting to take off no more than 25% growth
  4. Control the worm casts on the lawn
  5. Arrange to get the lawn mower serviced
  6. Trim the edges of the lawn
  7. Prune back any over hanging shrubs and plants
  8. Fertilise the lawn with an autumn and winter lawn fertiliser
  9. Apply Soluble Iron to provide some vital late autumn colour, especially if entertaining over November and December
  10. Over seed with lawn seed any bare areas - the seed will take a while to germinate but it will do so over the winter months, you will be amazed
  11. Re turf any areas that require a rapid repair

Whatever you are planning this coming weekend, don't forget your lawn!
