Time to fertilise your lawn
Time for your lawn to get up and out of the winter!
What is the first nutritional product you reach for in the mornings at home? Your lawn is no different and it is now crying out for some nutrients to get it going after the long cold winter.
Lawn owners will traditionally apply Lawn Sand to their lawns and this is still okay but expect a rush of growth and some extreme mowing to get it back under control again. New generation slow release fertilisers provide a slow or controlled release of key major grass nutrients and also provide up to 12 weeks of nutritional benefit for the thousands of grass plants that make up a few square metres of lawn.
There are many other types of Nitrogen sources that should be considered which is why the friendly people at The Lawn Shop provide a choice of three Nitrogen sources so you have a choice in their own label range of lawn fertilisers. You can choose from Sulphur Coated, Methylene Urea and also a UMAXX Stabilised Nitrogen which is a trendy American product. Each will last 12 weeks but they behave in different ways according to the climate and soil.
March is a great time to mow your lawn and apply a lawn fertiliser to see what you have got left to play with. The turf plants will soon respond to the nutrients and thicken in density, throw down some new roots and be encouraged to tiller out. Regular mowing will also aid recovery from the winter.
What are you waiting for - go and feed your lawn now! It will thank you for it.
