Bank Holiday Lawn Care
You can tell by the weather today sadly that we are embarking on a Bank Holiday weekend.
The grass growth cycle is really fast now after the late spring and the lawn weeds are out in force. You should not be mowing your lawns weekly leaving them around 30mm if you want a deep, dense and lush lawn(s) to enjoy.
Below are a few Bank Holiday tips and jobs to be getting on with, should you be planning a weekend at home, maybe inspired by The RHS CHelsea Flower Show?
Mow your lawn multi direction to keep the grasses upright
Tackle any lawn weed problems with a good selective lawn weed killer
Fertilise your lawn if you have not already with a granular lawn fertiliser. You should fertilise it again in three months time.
Treat any Moss that still has it's grip on the lawn with Soluble Iron
Control and Worm Casts with CastClear, the retail lawn worm cast suppressant
Trim the edges of the lawn where it meets the terrace, peathway or shrub borders
Keep a look out for Leatherjacket and Chafer Beetle Larvae and treat with Bayer Propvado whilst we still have it available.
Over seed with new grass seed any bare areas, large and small. Do not treat with a lawn weed killer until you can count four leaves onthe new grass plants and then only use Vitax Lawn Clear
