A Sea of Mud At The Tower of London
The 888,246 ceramic poppy flowers planted as a tribute to war dead have almost completely been removed by volunteers at The Tower of London.
The blood red field of poppies that made a nation weep is now a haunting sea of mud.
It looked almost as if nature herself had wanted to add a fitting final touch to Britain’s moving tribute to her First World War dead.
Some five million people visited the Blood Swept Lands And Seas Of Red installation planted to honour every British or Commonwealth citizen who died.
