Every Mowers' shed is his castle

Grass Clippings - Shed of The YearIf you are thinking of dusting down the lawn mower this coming weekend and firing it up for the first cut of the year, spare a thought for the surrounds of the humble garden shed.

Perhaps you may wish to enter it for the 2015 Cuprinol Shed of the Year competetion?  Current entrants include a castle, bar, nightclub, diner, beach hut and pirate ship

The popular competetion sponspored by wood and fence treatment specialist company Cuprinol.
With a record breaking 20,000 public votes the nation selected the finalists in the annual Shed of the Year competition sponsored by Cuprinol. The top four sheds in each of the eight categories went head-to-head in a bid to be crowned the overall winner of the 2014 Shed of the Year. For the first time the finalists were featured in a new TV series titled Amazing Spaces: Shed of the Year, airing on Channel 4. In the final episode, the Shed of the Year winner was crowned; The Allotment Roof Shed.

Shed of the Year was founded by sheddie Uncle Wilco back in 2007 and entries for 2015 Shed of the Year are now open at www.readersheds.co.uk

Grass Clippings - CuprinolWhat are you waiting for?  Our Managing Editor has a 'shed' at the bottom of his Victorian garden.  It's 4.8 metres wide and 3.6 metres deep with an additional 1.2 metres of covered poop deck.  It's split into two offices so a his and hers.  His side has some tool boxes and ladders and looks like an office, den, tool shed but when it is tidy, you can get a 4 foot 6 aero bed in it.  It is build with timber, highly insulated, plumbed in for electrics and communications with weather boarding on three sides and long gallery windows to the front.  It has a port and starboard light on it too and a port hole connecting the two offices.

Owning a fleet of retro Type 2 VW Campervans available to hire for holidays, we in particular liked the shed featured in the main image. Very retro indeed.
