Using a Knapsack or Garden Sprayer

Knapsack Sprayer Picking up a knapsack sprayer for the first time and wondering how to calibrate it can be a scary moment for any lawn owner.

Applications of lawn treatment products to your lawns are a finely calibrated process - making sure you get the correct amount of treatment product across the chosen square metres of lawn in the correct amount of water will ensure that you do not have a sleepless night.  A watering can is not the best tool to use to apply liquid lawn care products.  Trust our knowledge on this.

Thankfully you can apply a little maths to the product label and be advised how much product to mix in how much water and then applied to so many square metres.  Liken your lawn to applying paint to a wall.  Apply the paint incorrectly and you will still see the old colour underneath.  With lawn treatment products you cannot always apply another coat quite so soon after the first attempt.

The biggest problem arises when you are unsure how many square metres one tankful of your chosen knapsack or lawn and garden sprayer will apply to ensure you are following the label correctly, but most importantly, acheiving the desired results.  It is easy to blame the product instead and lose faith in it.  Fertiliser spreaders have to e calibrated too.

Be prepared and look at the links below to help you reduce any potential for error.  The Spray Indicator Dye greatly assists the knapsack operator.
