Watch out for Earthworms the size of Baby Adders in the UK
Earthworms the size of a baby adder and weighing the same as a small mouse have reared their heads in the UK.
It's bad news for those scared of creepy crawlies as scientists on the Isle of Rum, off the Scottish coast, have found earthworms clocking in at a whopping 1.3ft long, which is over three times the length of a normal worm.
The lead researcher of a study on the creatures, Dr Kevin Butt, told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: 'These things weigh about twelve and a half grams - but the normal size for these things is about four to five grams.' 'When these things came out of their burrows they were like small snakes.
