Lawn Eating Grubs attacking British Lawns

Grass Clippings - Grass Invaders Chafer Beetle LarvaeMost holidaymakers are able to return home feeling refreshed and relaxed, but this woman came back to find her pride and joy destroyed by tiny vandals.

Linda Bingham returned from a family trip away to find large section of her quarter-acre garden looking as though it had been ploughed.

The large, white grubs of the chafer beetle feed on and weaken the roots of grasses which then allows birds and other wildlife, such as badgers and foxes to easily rip up lawns in search of the insects.

With EU legislation in place, there are no pesticide control active ingredients available to home owners and turf professionals / lawn treatment companies to currently control Chafer Beetle and Leatherjacket Larvae in lawns. At some point, the Ministers may grant an emergency usage period but nothing on the horizon as yet.

Your only option is to apply Nematodes available from Green Gardener Online.
