Lawn sucked dry by Tesco trees

Grass Clippings - Tesco Trees Suck Lawn DryA teacher claims his garden has been ruined and his home’s foundations are under threat after the giant roots of trees from a Tesco invaded his property.

Damian Bell’s garden backs onto a store in Edenthorpe, South Yorkshire, which is lined by a row of 25ft trees – and he was puzzed that nothing was growing in it.

But the 44-year-old eventually discovered the lawn of his detached property was laced with giant roots creeping under the fence and sucking the ground dry.

Many of the roots were too large to remove without destroying the lawn and he is worried they will damage the foundations of his home and conservatory.

Mr Bell claims to have had no luck in pestering Tesco since July 2015 asking them to sort the problem - despite complaining to the store manager once a month.

Perhaps Tesco can give Mr Bell some hosepipe and a lawn sprinkler to remedy the situation as in Tesco own words,  'Every Little Helps'
