Looking at the weather forecast for this Easter Holiday, the only gardening you might be doing is online or from the comfort of your armchair. A bit like last Easter in fact.  The weather looks a bit unsettled.

A cold front is slowly slipping southwards across the country today bringing a band of cloud and patchy rain with it before colder and brighter conditions follow on into the north. This pattern looks like repeating itself during the next few days but with high pressure never too far away from the south and southwest then rainfall amounts in the south are likely to be negligible.

It will probably be the driest too, especially in the South East of England where some areas are experiencing drought like conditions.

The first two to three weeks are the "critical phase" in the establishment of a new lawn from turf. All too often, lawn owners have a new lawn laid then fail to look after it and then blame the company who supplied or laid the turf when problems develop after a few weeks later. Follow these simple rules to ensure that your newly laid lawn gets a head start.

Are Earthworm Casts spoiling your lawn?
