A prestigious county bowls final was called off after a player allegedly headbutted a rival following a heated argument about etiquette.
The Hampshire County Cup final descended into chaos when a man in his '50s or 60s' squared up to an opponent in Southampton, Hampshire.
Shocked witnesses at the event described seeing one of the Boscombe Cliff players headbutting a member of the Southsea Waverley Bowling Club.
Following the 'bizarre' and 'unpleasant' altercation between rivals the match was abandoned and Southsea Waverley Bowling Club, from Portsmouth, Hampshire, were handed the trophy.
Southsea Waverley Bowling Club's secretary today said the pair argued over 'etiquette' at the Atherley Bowling Club in Southampton.
