Enjoy a game of Croquet

There are a lot of croquet clubs around the UK; some have professional green keepers looking after their lawns and other use their members to assist with the day to care and maintenance of the lawns, mostly on an unpaid basis.
The Team at The Lawn Company take a pragmatic approach during their Lawn Consultancy visits to home owners and croquet club members when both have sought TLC advice in keeping their lawns and croquet lawns in tip top condition or sorting a problem with them too.
One frustrating aspect of providing advice to croquet clubs and lawn owners is that it is totally up to the client as to whether they accept the advice given. There needs to be an immediate and short term, medium and long term view of lawn improvement and for clubs, committees often gets in the way of the decision making process when time is not on always their side. Time when the lawns can get even worse.
One excellent publication for Croquet Clubs and private Croquet Lawn owners is The Croquet Gazette. It is published every two months and not only contains Club News but also technical articles on caring for a croquet lawn. It is published by The Croquet Association (CA) which is the national governing body for the sport of Croquet in England, Wales, Northern Island, the Channel Isles and the Isle of Man.
The Lawn Company have a wealth of turning around the fortunes of Croquet Clubs, well their lawns at least. Their portal web site www.lawn.co.uk provides Lawn Advice, Lawn Service and Lawn Supply.
In the April and May issue of The Croquet Gazette, The Lawn Company have put together a croquet lawn maintenance schedule which details the tasks that should be performed on croquet lawns during these key months and going forward. Later editions will include maintenance tips for July, August, September and October especially the autumn renovation programme so worth trying to pick up a copy or visiting The Croquet Association web site.
Should you require advice for your croquet club lawns or croquet lawn at home, please take a short while to read from over 1,350 technical articles on this advice blog or contact The Lawn Company. It will be money well spent and thousands of pounds may be saved in the future.
Picture Credit - whilst doing some research for this blog post, I stumbled upon CreatureMag which is an artist run online art and culture magazine. Through the Creaturemag website they establish collaborations, devise projects and generally display great artwork. They asked their members to send in illustrations for the theme of Croquet and Croquet Art Fest that would appear in the June edition of The Croquet Gazette. Take a look here. Please visit their web site and tell your lawn friends!
