Opening a Can of Worm Casts

CastClear - Can of WormsWith 41.5mm of rain in the past 5 days, in the South East, your lawns will be screaming 'oh yes!'

The Earthworms will also be having a bit of a party by throwing their muddy soil casts onto the surface of your lawns.

CastClear is a NEW organic and unique combination of nutrient materials that have been clearly shown to reduce lawn soil-cast levels on lawns large and small.

It's the Solution to lawn soil cast problems and has been selling in Garden Centres since the Autumn of 2011 with over 15,000 Litres sold to date.

It's a lawn soil cast suppressant and a deterrent. It's proven in control on both lawns and sports turf. The lawn soil casts are starting to appear now (September 2019) after the snow melt has gone and will continue to show up on lawns until mid April 2020 if we get a wet winter and early spring time.

It is unique in using a surfactant system that moves the nutrient into the upper soil structure and fixes it there providing good persistence of deterrent effect until breaking down to natural nutrients absorbed by plant roots.

As the soil air to water ratio changes in the more traditional autumn months, you will notice an increase in lawn soil cast activity. The wetter the autumn or winter, the greater the worm activity will be. The root zone of the lawn will become spongy as the worms undermine the upper surface and mowing will become difficult, especially with a cylinder mower. The use of the lawn will diminish as a result of the difficult surface conditions.

Can anyone tell me how to treat leather jackets and what product to use as I have no lawn only leather jackets. Is it possible to treat them now or do I have to wait till October. (Desperate)

Reply: Nematodes only we are afraid or get a black sheet of plastic, the size of the lawn or do in sections, water the lawn with a soapy substance as a blanket spray and cover for a night with plastic. Sweep up LJs in the morning once the sun is warming up.
